During the hariraya idulfitri 2006 suprise visit by my former macma student abdullah ng khai siong, we told him that abu zuhri shin got 3 faces/characters like mirrors ;
one as new muslim seeker sharing knowledge and encounters, two as chinese muslim part-time propagator/teacher to the beginners and three as a faqir/murid of the great Darqawi-Shadhili sufic path. He was granted the izin/authority somewhere in 1990s in bukit tunku or ritz hotel of bukit bintang in the company of sidi ridha lua and sidi abdal aziz redpath and umar pasha. There is a long and winding story about finding our Western Sage back in 1970s thru the book Way of Muhammad and Sh.Alawi sufi Saint of 20th Century. Insyallah, some lights already passing thru my windows.
